Voicestream NYC data outage?

Is anyone else having problems getting online with Voicestream? I keep on getting "No Carrier" error when I try to connect to ISP. I hope i'm not the only one.

How ironic - SPrint PCS Digital Web has been down in the DC area since Thursday too! Must be a conspriacy.

I'm also in NYC and have also not been able to connect to the VoiceStream ISP on my VisorPhone since yesterday, getting the No Carrier message. But I am able to connect to my own ISP okay.

I seem to have problems on my way to NY fairly frequently from Philly--much of north jersey seems to go blank. ANd NY isn't great.

Gee, I love Voicestream.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe VS shut down their ISDN numbers. Is anyone accessing data through other ISPs in NY that ARE working? I can't seem to get anything working correctly, although setting my treo to dial my home number as a data call DOES make my home phone ring. Anything else and it's an X1102...

Anyone else having trouble with the VS ISDN number (again....) I'm in NY and using the 203 number. I've never been able to access the 913 (Florida?) number. Does anyone have this working right now (and the complete settings list that cause it to do so?)

The VS tech, of course, was less than helpful, telling me that (obviously) the ISDN number is not supported as it is a WAP gateway, etc, etc....

I used to be able to dial in fine, now I'm getting x1102 errors every time (Busy, wrong number or data not enabled).

Help greatly appreciated....

This is a very good question---my biggest problems over the last week or so have been accessing ISDN data services. Maybe it's been discontinued? Right now, I just tried in my own city where it would always work and nada.

As of 11:30 AM on Tuesday AM, EDT, the VoiceStream ISDN numbers seem to be back in service.

At least I was able to make data calls to each (FL & CT) from New York City.

Your mileage may vary.

Just tried making data call to the Voicestream ISDN (913) number and I still get no carrier error. I also tried calling a local ISP and got same error message. Glad you got through though. I think that's a good sign the ISDN #'s haven't been shut down.

No more VS error message

I called VoiceStream yesterday and had them reset the provisioning of data for my service. I was then able to connect to CT VoiceStream ISDN number and surf the web. VoiceStream internet tech, Mike, stayed with me on landline while I made sure it worked.

The day before yesterday, a different VoiceStream internet tech, Kristin, told me VoiceStream doesn't provide ISP connection and that I needed a separate ISP. Glad I sought a second opinion!

Mike was surprised the CT & FL numbers worked, as they are for customers with WAP browsers -- but that it's okay to use them.

Talk about inconsistent policy...
The tech I spoke with a few days ago told me it was for "WAP users only" and since I'd be getting full internet access, I wasn't REALLY allowed to use it. That being said, I'm using it anyway (while it works) until GPRS is usable, as they seem to not know whether it's really allowed or not...
