-- VisorPhone won't Call Forward?!? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15299)

Are any other VisorPhone users having problems with this? I have Voicestream service outside of D.C. and I just cannot get the darn thing to forward to another phone number.

I've spent lots of time on the phone w/ Voicestream...they ensure me that forwarding is an available option with my service and is enabled. So they tell me it must be the phone - call Handspring. I call Handspring...and of course, they assume that its a Voicestream problem. But, I can take my SIM card, put it in a standard Motorola cell phone and it will forward calls properly. But that same SIM card back in the Visorphone and of course, no forwarding.

Handspring replaced the phone when I demonstrated this to them over the phone. But the replacement didn't work either. I've since fried the ringer on the replacement, and gotten a replacement for my replacement...three different Visorphones and so far, not one of them has worked w/ Call Forwarding!

At some point, I think someone at Handspring or Voicestream told me that "some of the Visorphones just won't do it." Another person told me to try forwarding to different numbers. I've tried lots of numbers, three different phones...nothing! I always end up with the same error message when I try to apply the revised Call Preferences - "Read Network Settings ! Operation failed." I can successfully "Disable Call Waiting" and "Block outgoing caller ID"...just can't do the call forwarding.

I suspect it's a Voicestream problem. Maybe local to the D.C. area. Any other VisorPhone users on Voicestream or other providers experiencing this problem?

I got my Visorphone just last week. After reading your post, I tried my call forwarding and it worked fine. (I am in Houston, TX.) So you may be right about the problem being local to DC.

Cell Phone provider

Call fowarding is usually handled by the cell network not the phone. The phone itself have very little to do with calls being rerouted. You get the issue resolved with your cell company.
