VP connection meter

Greetings all,
Is there any software that can measure your connection speed? I would like to see what kind of connection rates I am getting with my VP from my provider (Earthlink) and compare them to other providers/work/VoiceStream ISDN number.

While you have the "Initializing" "Dialing..." dialogs, press the page down button.

Also, after connection select Options, View Log and you should see your IP, DNS etc...

The page down works, but what "options" menu are you talking about (meaning, what application)? Now if only I could break that damn 9.6 barrier...

Ooops. On the Prefs, Network (where you have the Connect button), there's a View Log option!

Also, I've sent an e-mail to Handspring asking about speed. My network supports 14.4. Got an e-mail back from Handspring saying "the Visorphone does not allow speeds higher than 9600"...

Strange, but the documentation says 14,400!

Is this a bad advertising or bad product?
