Question

Has anyone been successful getting a visor phone even though they don't reside in a designated "home" area?

Question not really what i was asking

Thanks for the info, but I may need to be more clear.

I don't live in a state where Visor Phone service is currently sold. But there are national plans that I could use if I got a phone through an Atlanta address for example.

Has any one tried this?

Talking outside area

The Visor Phone is a GSM phone so if where you live you have GSM coverage which you can check at http://www.gsmworld.com. I'm pretty sure that you have it. So all you need to do is buy a gsm phone and a Visor Phone spring board and then once everything is set up just take the GSM SIM chip out of your GSM phone you bought and put it in your Visor Phone and your set. The visor phone is also Dual band so if you buy one in the USA you can't use it in other parts of the world and vise versa.... hope that helps. If you reply with the state and city you live in then I could tell you your GSM provider there.
