Talking Nextel I1000+phone cable to handspring announced!

Hi,

I just got an email from supplynet, announcing that the long awaited cable connecting Visors with Nextel I1000plus phones (and other IDEN models) will be available 7/15/01.

Read about it here:

Cheers!
Laura

Okay,
So what is the benefit of using this cable? Can I sync my Visor phonebook with my Nextel phone? Can I compose 2 way text messages on my Visor and send them thru the Nextel?

Just curious if any of you are using this.

You can browse the web send email from the Visor. Basically use the I1000 like a modem. I am not using this, because our office is evaluating or cell providers.

ethos,

Thanks for the feedback. I have a feeling it won't be of much use to me. We are using the Nextel phones only as direct connect radios & two way text connect pagers - no cell phone capability turned on. I'll just keep using my Visorphone for browsing web.

I was just wondering if I could use the cable to connect to the visor to make it easier to compose messages.

I think I'll save my $39.95 and save up for a Memory Stick Memplug.

Thanks again!

Your welcome. I too have a I1000. I've had a nextel since they first came out and I love the Radio feature, but it seems to be getting worse as far as dead areas right in the city. Anyways Nextel altogether is another topic.

About 2weeks ago I purchased a Memplug SM and I loved it!!!!
