-- Couple questions for you pros about wireless (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10238)
I'm getting a Prisim for Christmas and had a couple of questions about wireless connectivity.
What is the difference between Omnisky and Yadayada?
The modem looks identical for both of them, are they the same?
Does one have better coverage than the other?
Do their browsers support color?
How reliable is the connection?
Does anyone know how the coverage is in Hawaii?
I see that there is omnisky coverage on Oahu. Is the connection reliable?
My house and work are set up with 802.11 wireless ethernet accesspoints, I know xircom is releasing an 802.11 springboard module in q1'01 but I was wondering if there are any already out?
Is anyone producing a springboard pcmcia adaptor so that I can use the pcmcia 802.11 cards I already own?
Ok that's all....
CSR
I have both, here are some observations:
Browser:
YY can access over 90% of all web content, including frames and graphics. OS can only do about 50%.
Personalized content:
The myYadayada page offers much more functionality.
Coverage: exactly the same
modems: exactly the same
Email: YY can access up to 6 POP3 accounts and I hear IMAP very soon.
I would recommend YY any day.
