I tried the new Blazer browser while connecting to Omnisky. Works great, and it is much faster than Omnisky. I was wondering if anyone else has tried it and if Omnisky gives you a "Content database version error. Content channels will not be available."
Thanks for any feedback.

Internal Proxy Error
After installing Blazer 1.1...Blazer worked fine. I then tried Omnisky and was forced to re-input my username and password (no big deal) then I got an "Internal Proxy Error"...I hit OK and tried again and Omnisky worked fine.

I had connection problems. It seems like it verifies your connection in the very beginning, and them pushes you to the login/username. I was impressed with the speed.
I showed a co-worker and at first I had to explain the concept of wireless and then showed him a demo. He literally said that the connection was faster than his dsl. I did remind him that this was only text, but yes... you're right, this connection screams speed.

Blazer 1.1 is working fine on my prism!
I just hate one thing. Blazer disconnect my connection when my minstrel s lost connection and Blazer still loading the page. So, when I hit refresh button, the modem need to signing up to the Omnisky network again.
Anybody have the same problem?
Thank's

I use YadaYada... and although I have yet to get dropped from my connection, I suffer worse... fatal exceptions.

I went to Omnisky and reinstalled the latest content from the downloads page and all is well now.
I am wondering if there is a way to get rid of some of the Omnisky programs from memory. I could really use it.

I played with the beta a bit last night, and it did seem a little faster. The colors seemed a bit more vibrant, perhaps, but I didn't hit any really graphics intensive sites - just Yahoo news and Visorcentral. I also seemed to note more "hangs" where the thing would freeze up for a while. However, it's hard to say if that's the software or the Minstrel (I use Yada Yada).
I also got one "fatal exception" that required a software reset - fortunately, no data loss. Again, I'm not sure if that was the software or the Minstrel/YadaYada combo's fault. I haven't had a fatal exception for a while.
All in all, the beta seems like an improvement, but incremental only. That said, I didn't hit any graphics-intensive sites, so I may have been missing the true improvements.
I completely agree with you in regards to the incremental upgrade.
But, I did notice that they added over 100K to the size. Does anyone have an idea to what they added?

Encryption
I think the 100Kb addition has to do with the enhanced encryption features. On version 1.0 I was unable to connect to a 128 bit encrypted site (such as an online banking site). WIth this one, I was able to log on with ease. This mean that Blazer can surf just about any site.
Blazer data
I am happy with the bata version, too. I how 1 question though: Can Blazer run with all of its data stored on the Minstrel S (prc and all related files)?
Many thanks.
I've run both versions off the Minstrel. However, the only thing I transfered to the Minstrel's flash was the application itself. I haven't tried to transfer any associated data, because (a) I'm not sure which files it would be, and (b) I assume it wouldn't work anyway. My guess is any associated data files are rather like a database or document file, and it's alwasy been my understanding that those types of files can't be modified in flash memory.
How did you get information onto the Minstrel? I have used the flash updater to go to version C of Omnisky. I am hoping that the agreement between Omnisky and HS Blazer will be utilized in the next flash updater release putting most of the stuff on the Minstrel. I would love to gain some space on my Visor. If you guys know a better way to consolidate memory, please let me know.

The YadaYada minstrel comes with File Mover, the same application used in Handspring's 8mb module, the Innopak 2V, etc. I used that. Doesn't Omnisky's have the same thing?
Nope, they don't provide a FAFilemover for Omnisky user.
Yeah I hope they will release another revision soon(maybe revision D) that use Blazer as the main browser.
I have a question for Minstrel S user .
What happen when you try to open a webpage using Blazer 1.1, and suddenly you lost the internet connection. After blazer display the message that indicates that you lost the connection, Do Blazer log off from the network(omnisky or Yada Yada)?. Because after Blazer displayed the message, it disconnect my connection to Omnisky. So when I hit refresh, The modem will signing in to the Omnisky network again.
Thank's
Andrew
