Buy VisorPhone or stick with 8290?

Hey...i currently have a Nokia 8290 connected with VoiceStream, and im about to get connected with the 19.99 a month plan. I see that the VisorPhone is FREE if i buy a new handheld and service plan. Im ready to give my Prism to my mom and buy one of the new Visors that will come out. One thing though, i wont be using the VisorPhone to use the web wirelessly, i already prepaid a year of service with Verizon using my Minstrel S...so i dont see why the VisorPhone would be necesary. Should i sell the 8290 and get the VisorPhone for free? Should i keep the 8290, and buy a new Visor when it comes out to use with my Minstrel S? Its really a hard decision...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My opinion:

1. If you want to continue with the Ministrel V modem then don't get a Visorphone.

2. If you want to get wireless net access and the phone in one module then Visorphone is good as you won't have to turn off your cell phone to use your wireless net access.

3. Don't count on the new modules coming out anytime soon.

Bearing in mind that we're probably not going to be seeing REALLY new (ie: ARM-based, OS 5) Visors for a good long time (Treo not withstanding), you're better off holding on to your Prism and using the IR port to connect it to your 8290's IR port, if all you want wireless for is mail & web. Both the 8290 and the Visorphone are GSM, so the service, coverage, etc. should be relatively similar, if not the same. If you should scrap anything, it's the Minstrel S.

Search the message boards - I know the instructions are on here somewhere.

The 8290 is so small, if you are just going to use the phone for a phone keep it. I couldn't stand having to lug aroud a Visor + VisorPhone combo especially after using my 8290 for the past half a year.

As for how to connect through the 8290 and Visor, there are many many topics on it, just search.
