-- Linksynergy cookies (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=7699)
I'm in the habit of rejecting cookies that seem "unnecessary" but I also understand that sometimes they can provide tracking information that helps a site gain revenue by indicating how much traffic they're getting. I notice that I'm constantly being requested to accept a cookie from LinkSynergy as I click around the VisorCentral site and that it indicates an expiration of later in the day of the day that I'm on the site.
What information is being placed on my computer by this cookie and is there some reason why the good folks at VisorCentral need me to take it? If there isn't I'll just set my software to always reject.
Inquiring minds...

The linksynergy cookie is a part of Handspring's affiliate program and is loaded everytime a HS banner appears.
Handspring uses to cookie to determine who was the refeerer at an eventual purchase with them.
The only info that is stored should be a unique random id, and our id.

OK, then
So allowing the cookie is "good" for you without being unduly intrusive for me, is that right? Sounds fine!
