Red face US Visorphone usable in Malaysia?

Hi,

Does anyone know whether a visorphone module bought in the US is usable in Malaysia?

I'm planning to buy one from the US since it's cheaper there. If you have experienced this (buy in US, use in asia) or have knowledge about it, please reply ASAP! thanks!

It will be usable on any network using the 900MHz frequency, like Celcom or Maxis.

It won't work on GSM1800 networks, like DiGi - the VisorPhone's two supported bands are GSM900 for the rest of the world, and GSM1900, which is only used in North America.

So, check with your network to find out what frequency they're using.

And for those who have a VP but want to know where they can use it, the Coverage section of the GSM World site, www.gsmworld.com, lists all the countries with GSM networks, and tells you which ones use which frequency.

Nigel.
