No Audio on PCExpo Webcast

Is it just me or is there no audio in the webcasts? The test clip has Audio (with VisorCentral Logo). However, the other two interviews do not. Just curious if it's something on my end. If not, wanted to let make VC aware of it.

I had audio. But I couldn't see the last half of the second interview.

Thank you for your post. That's strange, I rebooted tried setting a few different SoundOut methods (other than DirectSound) under QuickTime and I still don't get any Audio on the two newest clips. The Audio from the original "VisorCentral Test" clip sounds great. If one works, I would assume all of them would... <Scratching my head>

It was a Local Problem...

I went to Apple's site and downloaded QuickTime from there. Must have been something that was not installed properly on my end. All is well here.

I was running QuickTime 4.0.3 (I believe). 5.0 corrected the problem.

Me neither

I am not getting any sound either

I shouldn't have been facetious about the 2nd half, I could see & hear, it was just dark.

I am running quicktime 5.0.1 on NT.

Yepper

Upgrading my Quicktime did the trick. Funny how the test video and sound worked but quit on me until I did the upgrade.

As for the darkness on the video clip, if we do not mention it, they won't fix it for future videos. One other suggestion which I have seen done before is how the exhibitor shows off the product. For example, the demonstrator showing off the keyboard. The camerman is constantly moving between a head shot and a product shot...if the demonstrator held the product at a higher level near his head, the cmerman would not have to move as much.

Same Here

... I guess I'll have to go download a newer version of Quicktime. My 4.x version only plays the audio in the test clip.

Yes. You'll need to upgrade the plugin in order to hear any audio.

Excellent idea VC staff! Nice work!

Ark.

Yes, we have found that you do need QT5 for the feeds.

Be sure to give us plenty of feedback on the video. This was a testing ground for us, and we plan on having video feeds at future conferences.

Once we get back, we'll take some of the clips and test/optimize them more so next time the clips will be better.

Thumbs up

i updated my quiktime form 4.0 to 5.0 and delleted 4.0 and reinstalled 5.0. when i watch the Snap N' Play video half of the intro has sound and then no more sound for the rest of the video, also the graphics are just blotches like when they censor peoples faces on tv. i have a modem usually at 44,000 kbs.

thanks,
robert
