JPSystems PQA Browser for VDX!

Has anyone tried the JPS PQA Browser? I just discovered it and haven't heard any talk of it on the forum. It looks like it allows Palm OS 3.1 to use PQAs.

It looks like it works on my VDX/Nokia 8290. I just located the closest Starbucks. Kinda cool. Now I'll have to explore the PQAs!

Looks like they have a lot of cool apps on their site. Although, from a web designers perspective it is laid out terribly.

Infobeam.net is on a completely different site, but it is demo'ed on their site.

PQA browser is only accessed from the front page...

Luckily I had the time to waste to find these apps, otherwise I would have shrugged them off.

Agree

timmins, I agree. Even the link to the actual PQA browser downlad from the front page is hidden. I would think they'd make it a little easier to navigate considering the number of people who I think are interested in this product.

Here's the answer according to JPS:

"PQA is the acronym for Palm Query Application . A very simplified
explanation is this is a method developed by Palm for the Palm VII that
allows your device and browser to request information from the web, retrieve
the optimized content, compress the file size for wireless transmission,
decompresses the file after retrieving, and then displays it on your PDA
(Personal Digital Assistant). This method was created in conjunction with web
clipping applications because of the smaller screen size and lower memory
capacity of the handheld devices compared to laptop and desktop systems. The
JPS PQA Browser allows you this same functionality for accessing web
clipping applications as well as additional features."

JPS PQA Browser

It took me a good day of web searching to find something that I could use to use PQA files on the Prism/Minstrel S combo on Yadayada. It works pretty good. Does anyone know of any other program that can be used to make pqa's work?

Thanks

Try their infobeam.net... SOMEWHERE in their site. I dig that one. Barcode scanner, weather update, etc.

Cool THIS IS SO COOL!

I've really wanted to use PQAs, but only have a Deluxe. I still plan to get a Prism eventually, but now I don't have to wait for the PQAs. This program whips the llamas ass!

Thumbs up

The JPS PQA Browser is good stuff. I tried loading the files from a Palm VII on my Prism and it worked OK but I had some wierd stuff happen with it (mainly not being able to hit the setup up button in ThinAirMail). I loaded JPS PQA and my problems went away... I recommend it.

JPS PQA

I tried the JPS software for a few months and got about 75% of my PQA's to work. I eventually loaded the Palm VII libraries on my Visor Platinum and all my PQA's work now. Seems like the PQA's that access secure sites were the ones having the most problems.
