Visorphone coverage in Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley/Las Vegas/Manhattan
Would any Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley/Las Vegas/Manhattan users of the Visorphone please post as to how the coverage is and how often calls get dropped and clarity of the phone? I am thinking of getting one for my Prism, to replace a regular sprint phone, and would appreciate the input before signing up for a contract with Cingular. Any input on the mail and web browsing would also be appreciated.
sledgehammer
I only have trouble logging onto VoiceStream sometimes in Midtown Manhattan (60th/Park), but once I'm on I don't get dropped until I go down into a train station. My calls have never been dropped but sometimes the connection is an "echo" on the other end (or so I hear).
Sure the phone makes for a big unit but the power of all your info in one place rules out! Mail is a little slow, but the web browsing is surprising quick if you stick with the handheld sites. Connection gets dropped pretty consistently if I try to load a regular page that is pretty involved.
Good luck with your decision....
Service Coverage for VisorPhone in Manhattan
Cingular will not help you in Manhattan. The only GSM provider in the New York City area at this time is VoiceStream. Coverage in the New York City, 5 boro area is good, at least comprable to Sprint when I was with them.
