Ethernet Cradle? Where is it now?
Anyone out there has information on the PortSmith Ethernet cradle for the Prism?
It is not coming?

Have you tried contacting Portsmith?

I emailed them a while back, and while I don't remember the exact reply, it seems like it was something along the lines of "we decided not to make it since there aren't enough people that would want one." Don't quote me on that though.

Below is a reply I received from PortSmith on 11/20. The below-mentioned datasheet is in PDF format, which I'm not able to attach.

Rock,
Thanks for your interest in Portsmith's Ethernet Cradles. We have release a
new product that aligns well with your needs. MobileDox Net is a small
Serial to Ethernet Adapter that can attach to the end of a standard serial
cradle or hot sync cable. This adapter is portable and supports handhelds
running Palm or Pocket PC OS's.
Attached is a datasheet. List price is $169.

Hmmm. That's a good thing... The problem is Visor come with USB. Serial cradles are optional, and cost $$$.
I would still prefer an Ethernet card. That way I could use my stowaway at the same time.

Of course the RS - Ethernet adapter is a good idea - for corporate environments!
For home use, if the idea is only sharing the internet, then buying a Serial cradle would sufice. Add MochaPPP to it, and that's it.
Not as fast, but still better than nothing.
Perhaps, when more Bluetooth adapters (USB for my desktop, instead of PCMCIA) are available, the new Bluetooth card would make sense.
The bad thing is it would make my Visorphone useless for the time I spent on the net
Ok, get a Bluetooth card and a Ericson R520 or Nokia 6210...
I'm still inclined to go for a Compaq Ipaq H3860 with Bluetooth built in...
Ok, decision made: bought the Bluetooth springboard, a USB Bluetooth for my desktop, and am gogin to replace my VP with an Ericsonn T39, GPRS.
FWIW, Markspace (http://www.markspace.com) makes a serial to RJ-45 cable which might be usable for connecting to a LAN and only costs like $40.00
and the link to the data sheet for the outrageously priced Portsmith adapter is here: http://www.portsmith.com/MobileDox%20Net_ds.pdf
