-- New system... (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=7624)
Marcus,
I think this is your territory...
Last night I shut down my PC,after disconnecting from net(still running Palm Desktop,IE5 & Outlook Express).
This morning I started my PC(W98), which promoptly went into ScanDisc mode followed by a surface scan, which took over an hour to complete. Finally all was reported OK.
Tonight, after occasional forays into the discussion forum, I felt the urge to reply, whereupon I found that your cookies no longer recognised me,so I went back and logged on,forgetting my password in the process.Due proceedure ensued, password re-issued etc..re-entered it, spotted myself as a member logged-on.Ultimate result: completely forgot what I meant to post!
So time for bed, shut down, Windows hangs on shutdown.
So here's the question..are you sure the new discussion forum format is totally sorted? I've had no problems before, but wonder if the new server arrangements could be making any difference to me or others perhaps?
Ben
I understandd
I understand.. I use Linux on a slow processor (25 Mhz) and so I have to use text only. It works just VC can never remember my password (even though it accepts passwords) but I'm okay becaue my pass is memorized. I think... use lynx!!!

Actually, I feel rather foolish as all seems to be working OK for now
I actually prefer this new board alot compared to UBB. I usually log on from several computers and the new system appears to track last logon at the server, rather than just saving a local cookie.
The result is that no matter what computer I'm using, I always get latest posts since my last login highlighted.
This system also seems to remember me every time.
The UBB system (not just here but at lots of other UBB sites) has a tendancy to forget who I am and then I have to go searching for the cryptic password that I've stored.
Good work!
