Thumbs down

What's up with this "Junior" Member
stuff? At my age and career position, I
don't relate real well to "junior" anything.
No Ego problem, just seems silly. What's next, merit badges?
Yeah...sour grapes cuz I can't get my Visor cuz I dont have visa/mc and they don't take AMEX. Now, to me THAT'S junior.
Back to scheming up a plan.....

Your a Junior Member until you make over 30 posts then you become Member. I'm not sure if there is anything above that but I'll let you know...

BlueTech, good news, you only have 27 posts to go until you are a full-fledged "Member".

BTW, how old are you and what is your career position that makes it so hard to be a "junior anything"?

"Moderator" perhaps, Handsprung?

Thank you responders for clearing the "junior" question up for me. Now I understand.
And, Hawkeye..I'm three days older than dirt, and after fighting my way to the top of the food chain, I don't relate well to "junior" and I don't have to like broccolli. You have a problem with that?

Bluetech -
Personally, I am only 2 days older than dirt and kinda like having "junior" status. Makes me feel young again.

Wizard 22 - Yep, I just got promoted

Bluetech, you don't shake your junior status by achieving things in life. I don't care if you are a millionaire, a CEO, a pompous jerk, or a holier-than-thou jackass, until you have contributed significantly in these forums, you are a JUNIOR MEMBER. If you don't like it, the leave. Personally, I'd much prefer that you stick around and make some intelligent comments. No one cares that you are a hotshot, ok? I'm sure there are a lot of people here who are a lot better than you at a lot of things. So grow up. Oh, and remember:

ACHILLES THINKS THAT YOU ARE A JUNIOR MEMBER UNTIL YOU CONTRIBUTE.

-Achilles

I'm anxiously awaiting your self-important reply.

I think Achilles is proof that it really isn't that hard to get rid of your Junior status if you set your mind to it. All you need to do is browse around the boards and post the first thing that pops into your head regardless of how much it "contributes" to the discussion. A few posts of "I agree", "I disagree", or "My tummy aches" and you'll be a full member in no time !

And no, I'm not just posting this message in order to get closer to full member status. Maybe the better method would be to have it count the number of people that reply to your posts rather. This would reward meaningful posts and discourage people form replying to stupid posts (FroCheese?).

And exactly where did I ever post an 'I agree' or 'I disagree'? I think you'll find that I've put up a lot of content that most users had never seen, and content that was new to many users. (i.e-my pictures from the presskit http://www.visorcentral.com/visor/d...TML/000175.html , the info that the shipping date was moved up http://www.visorcentral.com/visor/d...TML/000168.html , etc.) In addition I've asked questions that expand on my own understanding. (Using Renewal batteries vs. NiMH, etc.)

Who said anything about being a "hotshot" or CEO or whatever? I said top of the food chain. claw, fight, and climb, but the top never the less. Get a life! and maybe a job while you're at it. a slight breeze seems to provoke some dulled minds into absolute identity panic around here. Chill. Read a book, hug a tree, console each other. Enlist! get rid of some of this pent up anxiety on some Iraqis.

Aw, JAndrews. Now you've gone and hurt the feelings of Mr. Archilles. Shame on you, but thanks for taking some of the heat and getting the "Response Ranger" off my case for awhile. I am indebted to you. Well said.
I'm starting to think this is some kind of "mental outward bound" forum instead of some informative marketing mechanism. You mean every time I respond to some weenie thing I get points towards promotion??? What a country! Gotta love that! Wow. I'll make Gunny yet.

Unhappy

BlueTech, you strike me as the type of person who would buy a pet for the sole reason that your could beat it and thereby make yourself feel big. It's okay, we understand. Maybe, when you get a break from "clawing, fighting, and climbing" your way up the corporate ladder, you might take a minute and go outside and hug a tree or something. But please, don't keep beating your dog.

JAndrews, I think that Achilles wasn't too far off in his statements. BlueTech came into the forum with a big head, insisting that he is better than everyone else and that he doesn't deserve such a lowly status as "Junior Member".

Hey, Bluetech what kind of job do you have that allows you to converse back and forth on a forum all day long? No offense intended

Red face

I rarely post to threads like this, not out of fear but from the knowledge that fanning flames is something I do much better in the physical world...

HOWEVER, if there really is a need to argue the merits of this board's methodology for designating a poster's virtual worth, then can it be moved to an area the Administrators have most intelligently provided for such activities, such as the VisorCentral.com forum, or may I say more approprately, the Off Topic forum?

Thanks all for a most scintillating discussion. It's been amusing.

And without warning, the wish is magically granted.

Good work handsprung. You don't look like a genie...
