Visor Deluxe (VDX) and Verizon QNC
I am about to buy a data cable for my Motorla V120c, that will allow me to
connect my Handspring Visor Deluxe (Palm OS3.1H). However, I've read
various postings that say Verizon QNC (Mobile Office) does not work
with Palm OS 3.1. Can anyone confirm this?
The following webpage from the manufacturer of the cable clearly
states problems with verizon qnc:

The part, however, most annoying is that Palm OS3.1, works with
Sprint's QNC, as confirmed by this:

I also found a message board post further confirming my fears:

However, Gomadic (http://www.gomadic.com/) claims that they have never heard such a limitation. Can anyone with one of these cables confirm whether, I could connect my VDX to my cell phone and connect to Verizon QNC?
(I understand I could use a regular ISP to connect, but I would have
to pay extra to get an ISP account)
Thanks
That is my understanding as well.
I've wanted to connect a Visor to Verizon QNC for some time and have held off on buying a cable. I have a prism now, but am still leery that it will really work even though I have OS 3.5. I have a Qualcomm 860 phone that would require a $40 cable.
Verizon's QNC is supposed to work as your ISP, so you don't have to pay an additional fee for an ISP - just use the minutes on your cell plan. This was appealing to me since I wouldn't use this type of connection very frequently.
When I called Verizon in the past, they stated they will only support Palm units and won't provide information for Visor users.
I remember a limitation with QNC I think on outgoing mail. Do you know if this is still the case?
