VP in Europe

I want to buy VP to use it in Europe. But I don't want to pay 299$. Does anybody buy VP with service activation and 'crack' it ? is it possible ?

How do you envisage 'cracking' a contract? It is not the hardware, the VP is just an ordinary phone attachment with SIM. It is the contract the user sets up with the phone company that enables to make the VP cheap, just like any other mobile phone you get.
