-- Don't forget to bring your Visor at the next Pink Slip party... (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12673)
A Visor sighting in the press...
A recent San Francisco Chronicle article describes the latest trend in Silicon Valley... the Pink Slip Party.
The Sighting: One of the pictures shows a job hunter beaming his resume to a recruiter... and both are using Visors.
How would you put your resume on a Visor in the first place?
Am I crazy?
Am I crazy or are they holding them in the wrong position to be beaming?

The simplest possible way would be to cut & paste a simplified, plain text version of your resume into memo pad - I did this when job hunting last year, but I never had occaision to demonstrate my geeky cleverness to prospective employers.
Still, you never know who you'll run into whether you're actively looking for a job or not, and it has the potential to impress the heck out of the right sort of person.
You could also convert a web-based resume into an iSilo document, and keep it on your visor... or you could create a custom avantgo channel, and link to it from your regular online resume.
Just like the Boy Scout motto says, 'Be Prepared.'

What is an iSilo document? and how do I use it?
Would it be possible to use wordsmith and beam docs? This way it would be fully compatible with Microsoft Word?

wouldn't it be better to set up a business card with all your contact info and then attach a note that has your resume in text version?
I think this would be easier to beam and easier for the receiver to find in the future considering you're now part of their contacts list and not lost in the memo pad amongst 'grandma's cookie recipe' and 'favourite books' memos.
just a thought.

Ah, excellent idea! That hadn't even occurred to me for some reason. Does an address entry note have the same 4K size limit as a memo?
