Question

Now, that I have my cell phone hooked to my Visor, I am collecting PQAs that are useful. I have a bunch that I am trying out that seem to work, and bunch that give me the ol' FATAL EXCEPTION...

I wondered if anyone else has had luck with PQAs and maybe we can get a good list of ones that do work. Currently I am using the JPS pqa browser, are there any other PQA solutions for non-VII machines like ours?

I had a link to a site that showed how to steal the libraries off a VII and put them onto any 3.3 OS machine and it seemed to do the same trick as the JPS browser, but our Visors all run OS 3.1 right, so that won't work?

Here is the link mentioned above... is anyone out there brave enough to try this on their Visor?

For that software to work, you need to be running PalmOS 3.3 or higher. I use it on my Prism, and it works great.

well, Ok then...

Well, what are everyone's favorite PQA's then? I get a lot of fatal errors, are there any which work well with the JPS pqa browser software?

PQA on Visor Platinum

I just loaded the Palm VII libraries onto my Visor and PQA's now work great. I had tried JPS, but was getting a lot of errors, especially with secured sites. Palm changed their PQA proxy server last night to 206.112.114.82 Good instructions can be found at www.geocities.com/daveinfopage/palm...ebclipping.html on how to change the proxy server. Hope this helps.

Talking Palm VII Libraries

So you did get them to work with 3.1, that is great! I have heard they wouldn't work at all... and I am not too thrilled with the JPS browser as it seems to give me fatal exceptions....

Palm VII Libraries

Never tried them on 3.1, I have version 3.5 (Visor Platinum). Is there a way to upgrade avisor to version 3.5?

The following PQA's should work fine on your Visor Deluxe with 3.1, at least they work with mine:

Britannica Encyclopedia - Very handy
Cocktails - Cool at parties
Merriam Webster Dictionary - Another handy one.
Fidelity - Powerful if you have a Fidelity account
GolfGuide
GolfNow
Linkstime
Google - IMHO the best search engine
NextBeamPager - Awesome Nextel messaging PQA
Pawgo - Kinda like a wireless portal
Yahoo People Search
Yahoo Mail
Starbucks - Bailed me out a few times
StarCD - The coolest one

Happy clipping!!

Ron

OK Ron, did you install the Palm VII libs or are you using the JPS browser? Thanks!

Sorry for not mentioning it. I'm using JPS. The Palm VII libs will definitely not work on the Visor Deluxe with Palm 3.1 OS.

VII Libs

Ok, then, I installed the VII libs, and they don't seem to adversely affect the visor in any way. But I should remove them, how can it be done? I can't see them to delete them...

Lightbulb Removing Palm VII Libraries

See www.geocities.com/daveinfopage/palm...ebclipping.html for instructions on how to remove the Palm VII libraries. Lots of good info on this page.
