FlashPlus problem
Recently, as soon as I plug in a CF card, I get a "last sector read failed'' error. I also get this when I open FAUtil. I have used the same card previously with my MemPlug, and previously formatted the card with MemPlug. So after receiving the "last sector read failed'' error with the FlashPlus, I did a Quick Format and received a "Fatal Exception" error message. When I run the FAUtil, Test Flash Car, I receive a Test Failed message "Flash card read tests failed!"
I am able to use the card with FlashPlus, reading programs that I had moved to the card with PowerRun and the FlashPlus adapter. What's wrong?

resolved
Resolved with a full reformat - lost the data, but I can recover that from the PC backup.
MemPlug does something weird to the last 16k of a CF, in order to be able to use it. Using ScanDisk on my PC, it comes up as a bad sector. If you let ScanDisk mark it as bad, MemPlug will not be able to do anything with that CF. Only a full format will cure this, but then MemPlug will want to "fix" that 16k area again. The CF works fine in my PC's card reader and my digital camera after the "fix".
FlashPlus doesn't do this?

All FlashAdapter modules expect expansion cards to have a standard MS-DOS compatible FAT12 or FAT16 format with no special "tricks". The FA software does attempt a non-destructive write to the last sector on the CF card so it can detect write protected SD cards and MemorySticks. Becaus of that, if the card has been formatted in some weird, non-standard compliant way, then the FA software is likely to conclude that the card is read-only. But cards formatted in digital cameras, MP3 players, and PCs can be used in FlashAdapter modules without modification.__________________
