-- a STORAGE forum (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15357)

Ok yall..

I've brought this up before, but I think that it was too early. Now it seems that the time is righ, nd I am proposing to VC, and to you this idea. the SB page is being clotted up with things on CF adaptors, on Memplugs and all. IT would be nice, just like the wirless users have their own forum, for us memory users, to talk abotu storage related things. And leavethe sb page, for multimedia things, ebooks and others. I'm just trying to clear up things.. and I think this is a great way to do it. Storage is goign to be the #1 thing for Vsrs, since they can use any medium. Let's make VC ahead of the trend, and not behind it. Now is the perfect time to add this new foroum, to make things easier, and to clear up others. Thank you, and please vote.

I think that possibly too many would get confused about the two forums, and post in the wrong location alot. Ebooks are a great example. The book is on a module, putting it in the SB section, but if it is on a Storage module, then it is in the "storage" section. Once this happens, I think that there will be a big difference between the two boards, and no body will know what is the apriaote place to post.
I think that the reason why Wireless got a section to themselves is because people don't only use SB's to get online. Most people use Cell phones and cables to get online, which merits them a section of their own.

BEN

PS- Sorry Mike, no harsh feelings.

Too many forums will be confusing and I like the idea of one forum for a SB modules.

Gee, this may be one of those things that's really hard to predict, until you get real-world usage out of it.
IMO, I can see merit to both sides of the argument.
Maybe SBs can add: "w/out mem. modules" and the new one can say: "SB mem. modules only" or something.

OK, I want to tidy up a few thigns here and there...

first of all, I see how it can become extremly confusing, and that's why it's so important that the 2 sentance description will have to be so clear. "A forum for discussing storage adaptors, and flash modules. Hardware specific software only!", hopefully that kicks out ebookx, becase under software or springboards we have ebooks as a term. This is all rough draft etc.. I'm goign to try to persuade all of you, but it's up to VC, and hopefully this vote will show that we want it. I guess the other hting is, is look at the SB page. It appears to me that it's getting a bit messay, and getting rid of one topic, will clear up and make chat less intimidating about other topics.. hopefully..

I must say that right now there are too many forums on this board, its huge. I don't find the storage springboards a problem. It makes the board very hard to read & time consuming to go through everything.

If you ask me the board should be consolidated into:

I really don't think we should do anymore forums. The Platinum split-off made me realize that its a pain to navigate all the forums. I don't bother checking out any of the visor model forums anymore. I check out accessories, springboards and off topic only now. I think we're fragmented enough myself. Anybody else share this view?

Arrow Time for a merger

The Platinum forum ain;t doing so well these days. I think its time for a merger Visor/Visor Deluxe/platinum as mentioned above.

There is no need for a storage forum. Becuase there aren't that uch storage solutions. I think its just fine in the current Springboard forum.

Merger

I agree with Mathew above. Visor, Deluxe and Platinum should go together. The Platinum forum is virtually dead these days.

I don't see a need for a separate memory forum. There is not that much to discuss about memory modules.

Congratulations Mike!

Well?:
*Is it the 'old' style?
*Is that OK?
*What have you put on it? Moved to it?
*How fast/slow was it?
*Do you feel like 'superconfident' Mike now that you can have maps, dictionary, ebooks, photos etc with you always?

*Have you put it down once yet?

I think my memplug is still coming. Good. I can barely move within my Prism because it's so full with 'necessary' data.
