Visorphone speed
Hi!
Got my Visorphone to replace my Nokia 7110. Put the SIM in it, and worked fine!
Two questions:
1) What init string to use to get 14.4kbps? The Vodafone NZ network supports 14.4 but I can only connect at 9.6kbps. I'm using AT&FX4;AT+CBST=75,0,1;AT+CHSN=2;
2) Anyone knows if the Visorphone uses the Enhanced Full Rate or Half Rate GSM CODECS?
Thanks!
14.4kpbs is not posible
quote:Sorry, but the GSM Visorphoe is limited to the maximum GSM data rate of 9.6bps. It will never go faster and does not support GPRS. As to your second question: I don't know.

Thanks for your reply!
The Facts sheet at http://www.handspring.com/company/p..._Fact_Sheet.pdf says "Support for third-party wireless data applications at up to 14.4kbps". That's why I'm asking
Thanks!
14.4kbps?????
I have been wondering also about the kbps. My VP on Cingular East is just too fast.It always goes past the 14.4kbps. The top speed i've watch it reach is 163.3kbps. I'm waiting for the SMOKE to start.

How do you find out how fast the connection speed is? Can't seem to find any info on it. Is it because i'm using palmOS v3.1?
When connecting press the Page Down button and it'll how the number and speed.
Now, if the VP is, in theory, limited to 14.4 (but does not reach this, according to Handspring), how come one can get speeds in excess of 100kbps?
