Network Library Problem

I have just bought a visorphone for use here in Australia. Im very impressed with its performance but have one problem. I went to setup my ISP's network settings on my Deluxe and it gives me this error message..."The Network library is not avaliable". I can connect to my mail via iambic mail ok but im trying to setup blazer 1.1. Any help would be appreciated.

Try a soft reset... sometimes that will bring everything back to normal. If it doesn't, try a warm reset. As a last resort, you may need to do a hard reset.

Thanks for the prompt reply Mark. I tried the warm reset with the visorphone in and no joy then i removed it and did a soft one and bingo its back. Your help is greatly appreciated. THANKS

A good rule of thumb: do not do resets with modules installed. It helps eliminate at least one level of complexity.

I have the network library unavailable issue as well. Except, I do not have a Visorphone. Instead I have a CF Memplug, and a Thinmodem+. Hard reset, warm reset, soft reset, modules in or modules out --- no combination seems to work. Whenever I reset my Visor Pro, I get a Fatal Exception right at the last instant (had same problem with Deluxe). In order to use the device at all when a reset is necessary, I have to be sure to hold down the Up Button during the entiire process, which seems to keep the evil Fatal Exception at bay. Unfortunately, though, I cannot complete the Network setup procedures, so the Thinmodem+ gathers dust, and I cannot sync e-mail during a hot sync operation.

Does anyone have any tried and true advice for this situation?

That almost guarantees that you have some sort of software conflict since the "warm" reset prevent hacks and system extensions from loading.

Mark, are you saying that I should do a hard reset and restore the Visor Pro one app at a time? Isn't there some way for me to identify the offending file(s) and get rid of them without doing a hard reset?

Only as a last resort... if you're using any hacks, that's where I'd start. Disable them all and restore one at a time to see if it's one of them.

You might want to try the Reset Tester utility from Kopsis Engineering.
