hey, just bought Visor Edge - im in UK - advice needed.

Hello guys, I just bought my sister a Visor Edge for her 18th Birthday. I am in the UK and very new to palm software and mobile communications. Can anyone please tell me how I can advise my sister how she can connect to the net with her palmtop? What does she need, a modem for the palmtop, a compatible mobile phone (she has 8210 Nokia on Orange (I think)) and what ISP? I am on genie and have WAP for free, I take it is impossible to connect to the net on Palmtop for free? Bascially guys, how do I get her hooked up to the net and what do I need, and where do I get it. Currently she has Visor Egde and 8210 Nokia phone on Orange.

She needs data enabled on her mobile phone - call Orange customer services for that. And for an ISP, the most sensible solution would be to use Orange's own one, which you can find the details about on the web site.

You have to tell the Edge to connect to the phone via IR (someone with one can explain where that option is in the menus; I have a Deluxe, which is slightly different).

The init string you require for the 8210 will be AT+CBST=14,0,1; or AT+CBST=75,0,1;

Both of these will give you a 14k4 data connection, but I'm not sure which is most reliable with the Orange isp; it's a case of suck it and see.
