Just got my VisorPhone and am very impressed. While I purchased the phone mainly for internet access, the signal is so much better than the AT&T service that I am using, that I am considering dumping my AT&T service. (I am located in West Los Angeles/Santa Monica).

Anyway, regarding my subject ...
now that Handspring sells thru retail, I went to my local Staples to check one out. The shipment must have just come in, because they had to go to the back room to bring one out. Signing up in the store, I was able to get the rebate of $215, bringing the cost of the VisorPhone to $235, even less than the price on the Handspring website. Also, Staples is running an anniversary special, giving a $100 Staples coupon (for later use) for the purchase of any cellular phone with service, including the Visorphone. Add in the fact that I was considering buying a travel charger (a $35 value) that is included with the VisorPhone, I figure that the VisorPhone cost me $100 + the service.

So far, between vox calls and internet access, I am thrilled. As a former Omnisky user, the internet access is much more stable.
