-- Review idea (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=4452)
As we start getting more than one Springboard within a given function area (ex: modems), might I suggest that VisorCentral perhaps put a "preferred" ranking on the best unit at the moment? Then, as new Springboards are introduced, VC can reconsider the "preferred" status of the current version vs. the new unit.
While I'm not sure that this was well-explained, I think that a VC recommendation of the "best of" given product lines would be a valuable service to VC readers.
While I generally agree with your thinking here, it would be difficult to implement if more than one person reviews the each of the various products. I suppose a formal list of review criteria could be established but in the end it might still come down to personal preference.
Personally, I still put more weight into actual user feedback from the discussion area than I do the actual reviews themselves. That's what sets VC apart from all the other sites... a great user community!

I agree with MarkEagle.
The range of the expectations of the different people is very wide. For example, consider the Eyemodule: Some folks love it and are very happy with it, others returned it because they considered the picture quality to be more than poor.
If you are interested in a particular Springboard, search the Archives or start a thread asking other users the things YOU put the preference on. The other VC members will be glad to help you - as they always do.
That's what I love about VC: You will (almost) always get several satisfying answers to your questions/problems.
Just my 2 cents...
