have visor & supplynet cable --> samsung, want keyboard

hello,

i have a visor pro and a samsung 8500 (with spring pcs). i have a couple questions:

1. is it possible for me to use the pocketop keyboard (http://www.pockettopinc.com) while i'm online, using the supplynet cable through my serial port. does anyone know of an alternate keyboard or workaround which i could use to use a keyboard with my visor while using my existing cell phone as a modem?

2. is it possible to access the information stored in my cell phone, through the supplynet cable?

i'm somewhat new to the pda world, thanks for any help.

daniel

1. I am not sure if you will be able to use the keyboard at the same time as being online. I kind of doubt it as I believe IR operation ties up the 1 serial connection that HS uses. I could be wrong though as I can use my Stowaway KB and my Thinmodem+ at the same time.

2. As far as accessing info on your phone, maybe, maybe not. I would start digging on the Samsung web site to find out if they have some sort of solution. You may also see if you can make a terminal connection to the phone. If so, there are quite a few terminal apps for the Palm, many of which are free. I just would not hold my breath on accessing info on the phone.

I just took a peek at their site and maybe you are in luck. It does say that it supports PC sync, but I am guessing that it will only sync with a PC, and will need special software at that (much like Motorola and its Trusync technology). Wow, that is quite a phone. I would say that your best bet would be to sync both phone and PDA to PC.

Good luck!
