Question

According to the Forum Rules of most (if not all) of the different forums:

quote:
Changes: Messages can be edited by their author. Messages can be deleted by their author.
However, every time I try to delete a message that I have posted, the system refuses.

Yep, just tried to delete the previous message and I got a page stating:

quote:
You are not logged in or you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. You are not logged in. Fill in the form at the bottom of this page and try again.
  2. You do not have permission to access the page that you were trying to. Are you trying to edit someone else's post or trying to access administrative features? Check that you are allowed to perform this action in the Forum Rules.
  3. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I don't think you can delete a thread that has been replied to. At that point, editing is the only option.

Nope, there were no replies to this thread when I tried to delete it.

Just tried to delete the message above. Got the same error screen. So it does not even matter if the target of the delete is a thread anchor or not.

Are you using the button, selecting the Delete check box, and clicking the Delete button?

I just tried it in the Test forum and it worked for me. Of course, being a Moderator might have something to do with it.

It's never worked for me.. Try setting up a "normal" user login and try it from there, not your VisorCentral moderator account.

Selecting the Delete check box, and then clicking the Delete button. Yes, that is what I am doing.

Yeah, being a moderator I would expect you to have full privileges.

Still cannot delete. Just trying again, for this discussion seams to have dropped below the radar without a reply from a full staff member.

If you can't delete a message, why is there even a button?

Doesn't matter. Just type a period or something pointless.
