-- Minstrel S and AT&T PocketNet service (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10378)
I have PocketNet access with my AT&T Digital One Rate plan(Ericsson R280 CDPD phone). Is there a way that I can use the Minstrel S springboard to use my AT&T account for data access? My understanding is that Pocknet works on CDPD and so does the Minstrel S. This way I wouldn't have to pay extra to subscribe to the AT&T CDPD network when I already have access. (It's completly useless to use it from the phone). And I really don't want to pay the 10cent /1k teather fee.
You would have to buy a modem from Novatel. I think they're around $360. I don't know if AT&T would allow you to have two separate IP addresses without paying extra. You would probably have to call them to find out.
Maybe someone here has experience with that.
