Unhappy Small dilemna

I've been using Eudora on my Prism for about 3 months now and have not had any problems sending email using my ISP's smtp server. I currently connect through QNC via SprintPCS. My ISP now requires that my IP address be one originating from their network (I must be using their internet in order to send using their SMTP server). Does anybody know of an smtp server that I would be able to use?

Thanks...

Have you tried any of the web based programs that allow you to connect to your mail server? Ones like www.mail2web.com and www.readmail.com.

Actually, your problem is SprintPCS. Their QNC doesn't allow SMTP relaying. A while back, Cables4PDA's was seeking beta testers for an SMTP server that works through SprintPCS. I tried it and it works fine. Contact them to see if you can participate.

Actually, I'm already participating in that. The only problem is that it only works with Eudora and I want to be able to send attachments

Ok... I'm not sure if there's any other email app (especially one that supports attachments) that will work. Most of the one's I've tried do not let you specify seperate user/password settings for the SMTP server.

The other thing you can try is dialing into your ISP instead of using Sprint's QNC. That way you should be able to use your ISP's SMTP server to send mail (and attachments if your email app supports it). If you don't have the free long distance as part of your service, try to locate a list of local numbers for the ISP.

Thanks! That worked.
