Visorphone - How much time have I used?

Is there a way to show how many of my minutes I have used? Sort of like a timer or something?

If you are using VoiceStream you can log on to the web site and check your useage:
http://www.voicestream.com/
The web page can give you a list of what has not been billed (or paid. It does not, however tell you what catigory everything is in. So you have to print the list then go through it and add up your weekday regular minutes, weekend minutes, and promotional minutes to figure out if you are over.
.
You can also look at the history list on the phone software on your Visor, and look at details for the first listing. Then press the down button to move to the next call. You can then add up useage that way. But it does not include data calls or any call from a differant program.
.
Good Luck.

Yeah, but that's a dumb omission for a "smart phone" product. VisorPhone software should have a total minutes timer built in. Even my 8-year-old Motorola brick had a timer function. Not to mention my newer Nokias, Nextel phone and Mitsubishi T250 I've used since then. It's standard to have a "last call", "total minutes" (resettable) and "lifetime minutes" in the phone itself.

I'm sure some enterprising Palm developer could write one easily enough; as noted, that data is captured on a per-call basis in the call history database. But it really should be core functionality in the product.

Considering that most plans have free minutes for nights and/or weekends, I have generally found call timers to be practically useless.

For that reason most new phones don't even come w/ a counter feature. Most services have web sites that you can check your minutes or a number that you can call to check on your minutes.
