Sprint PCS and web clipping
I have been using the Digital Link for about three weeks now and find it already irreplacable. It is such a benefit to have just ONE device to haul around.
Granted I would have loved to gone the Treo route, but since the brilliant people at Handspring are going the GSM route AGAIN, and 90% of our country isn't covered by that including my part of the country, I opted for the Digital Link.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has tried to run PQA's or web clipping apps on their Digital Link. I have a couple of those types of programs that I would like to run, but have been unsuccessful so far.
Thanks for the help.

Try the SureWave Browser for PQA's from JP Mobile. I've succesfully used it on my VDx with the Digtal Link.

Case and Web Clipping
Hey Symon what case do you have? I ordered the EB Slipper for the VisorPhone. I hope it will work with the SB3000 (Sprint Digital Link).
As for Web Clipping I use SureWave PQA Browser.
you can get it here http://www.jpmobile.com It works really well. Most every PQA I have found works.
**RESETS**
Well since I also have been having the problem with my screen turning on for no reason I set my idle time to 30sec. Now when someone calls me and I talk longer than 30sec the screen shuts off (This is fine) then when they hang up the screen turns on but the call still shows active. I then tap the hang-up and it takes a long time to disconnect. and 3 out of five times it has done a soft reset all by it's self and I have to turn the phone back on. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for the advice.
I will give the PQA browser a try. Thanks.

I would've waited for the Treo too if it was going to work with SprintPCSbut since it won't I decided to go with the Digital Link.
I really like only have one device on my belt and only having to keep one phone book up-to-date! There are a couple of issues I'm hoping will be resolved in the near future (and a handful of features that would make it even better.)
What's PQA and why would it be better than Blazer?
Thanks!!
PQA info
I'm not a PQA expert, but in a nutshell, they are little 'web clipping applications' designed specifically for wireless connections with PDA's. I like the Blazer browser, but having the ability to get preset information quickly from the web is appealing. Plus, I use online credit card processing and the company I use will allow me to do real time CC processing with a PQA app.
In response to a note earlier about cases, I love the EB cases as well, but orderd the Vaja case for my digital link and it works great as well. www.vajacases.com/

More on my Digital Link
I've got the Visor Phone case from Handspring. Upon looking at the VajaCases though, that looks much better. I did get a deal on the handspring case by registering. You get 10 dollars off when you register. Since I'd just spent over 500.00 bucks on a prism, and phone, I thought I'd save a little.
I've tried using PQA's and Surewave, and a couple of them work well. I need to keep looking for good ones though.
I did use Avantgo, and Expedia on line for flight status this week. It worked well at Newark Airport.
I can't get my office email through pop, so I am trying Eudora and Yahoo. Still don't have all the bugs worked out yet though. Seems when I try and send an email, I have to do some work with the to: address or Yahoo doesn't accept it. Eudora adds the persons name in front of the email address. Yahoo doesn't like that.
Did you get the 786 Vaja case (the one for the Visor Phone?) or do they make one specific for the Digital Link now?
I can't tell for sure, but it seems like the Digital Link is wider than the Visor Phone
and what's the difference between their standard belt clip and their Ultra Clip?
Vaja case
Yes, I purchased the Visor Phone case and it works fine. A little tight coming up over the antenna, but works well nonetheless. I got the standard belt clip and not sure what the difference in the other clip is.
I would have preferred a Slipper case from ebcases.com, but they've been backordered for months.

Is the standard belt clip detachable (from the case - so that the clip itself stays on the belt) or is it attached permanently to the case?
What makes you like the Slipper case more?
I like the slipper case more cause you can order it without the belt clip. I perfer to carry my Prism.

Belt clips...
All the belt clip cases I have used, have the fixed prong on the device itself and the clip part detaches and can stay on the belt.
I think I like the Slipper cases because of their price and design. The Vaja case has a snap to keep it closed (vs. velcro on the Slipper) and the Vaja case has to open all the way back over the antenna (a tight fit) to give unencumbered access to your Visor and stylus. The Slipper looks as if it does not have to do that.
Either way, it's about the device, right? And besides being a little bulky, I really like the integration of the Digital Link and Visor.

Questions about SprintPCS Services
I have a few questions about the Digital Link and Sprint services that I have a feeling this forum can answer better than the Sprint Service people I have had the pleasure of dealing with:
1) Do I need the Wireless web service, if my company has a toll free number for modems to dial into? The sprint people thought that I still needed the wireless web service but they did not know the answer.
2) If I purchase the wireless web service, will I be able to use it to access my company network and receive e-mail like I do with my laptop? Sprint Rep was not sure on this question either...getting the picture with the Sprint people.
3) Earlier in this post, there was reference to the 3G upgrade. Do you have to use the wireless web service to use the upgraded speed? I know that my companies modem service is only 56k but as I understand it now, the Digital link will only allow ?14.4k? speed. After the 3G upgrade, will I be able to connect to my companies 56k modem line at 56k?
4) If I can use the Digital link to connect to my company toll free modem line, is there any other advantages to using the wireless web services from sprint?
Thank you for any and all comments and answers to any of the above questions. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

). As of today, my understanding of the Wireless Web option basically means the difference in how airtime is charged. I was without the option on my account for the last 3 months of my old agreement, but could still use all the features, including the QNC connection, at the .39/minute rate. The current pricing for the option is only $5.00/month, so I've enabled it since renewing in November. Also, Sprint PCS really encourages you to use their Total Digital Connection plans with the Digital Link. These plans included Wireless Web and Voice Command.__________________

Has anyone been able to reconfigure the "my wireless web" to look differently than what the default is? I have been able to change the mode, delete a couple of topics in the custom mode, but when I try delete any of the sites in a topic I get an error message that the topic already exists and I need to change the name.
The major problem is that what I see when using Blazer is NOTHING like what I've customized on the Sprint PCS site. On top of that, I can't use some of the sites that are on the list - such as, AOL IM (or ANY of the Messaging sites)
Anyone else had success in figuring this out or using it to your satisfaction?
Digital Link & Deluxe
I finally broke down and bought the Digital Link (even without seeing Mark's long awaited review
)
I had to mail order it. As of early this week, the Sprint Store in Leewood, KS, (less than 1/4 mile from Sprint's World Wide Headquaters) did not have it and did not know when they might get it in stock.
One key question. I am about to being using it with my VDX. I was suprised that the Digital Link's battery is charged via a connection to the VDX synchronization port. Will charging this phone with alkaline batteries in the VDX cause any damage? I suspect that the VDX does not have the circuitry to provide any charge to the batteries in the VDX, so this shouldn't be a problem.
I'll probably start using rechargeable batteries in my VDX anyway.
Re: Digital Link & Deluxe

Blazer info
I haven't done a lot of browsing with the Digital Link yet, but here's what I do know. You can set your own home page on the Blazer browser by tapping the menu button, then Options, then Browse web preferences OR just do a command stroke then G to immeadiately go to a site of your choice when your logged on.
I haven't messed with the default screen, because I didn't like much of the content there.

URL for Wireless Web?
Well, things are finally working with respect to my VPl and Timeport 8767. Here's my problem: I can check my Hotmail when I'm checking the PCS Wireless Web on my handset, but there's no way to access the Wireless Web using AvantGo or what have you.
The question I have is: What's the URL?
When I press "launch browser" on my handset, what URL is my handset being directed to?
How does it work with the Digital Link? Is there just an area you tap with your sylus that accesses the Wireless Web, or what?
I appreciate any held you can give me.
Please contact me ([email protected]) if anything is unclear.
