Nokia 6185 success story!!
I have successfully connected a Visor to the internet via the Nokia 6185. This is a CDMA, Sprint phone.
Here is what I did:
1) ordered a DLR-3 datacable for the Nokia 6185 (under $50)
2) ordered a DCH-M9 Visor-to-modem cable from www.markspace.com (under $40)
3) in the modem preferences, changed Flow Control setting to OFF
4) in the modem preferences, DELETED the modem string entirely (trust me)
5) plugged everything together AFTER doing #3 and #4
6) optional Signed up for Sprint Wireless Web so I didn't have to pay 39 cents a minute!
That was it! I did have to fool around with a couple different browsers:
Blazer did nothing but lock up. *Amended* After re-logging in and clearing cache, it works fine!
Browse-it works great. (http://www.intellisync.com)
K-Browse is useless, and virtually impossible to uninstall... I had to do a hard reset! Avoid it at all costs!
Mobile ID works great (www.mobileid.com), but is a big large. It is a wap browser; I use it primarily for checking Hotmail via www.httpworks.com.
Eudora email is big, but it is a very nice email program.
I hope this helps some of you... Please contact me if you have any questions; I will be monitoring this thread.
p.s. Markspace is a wonderful company; they respond quickly to emails, they participate on this discussion board, and their products are top-notch! Many thanks and kudos!

Blazer likes to do that.. try clearing your cache and/or resizing it.
Also, you may have to re-enter your Blazer user id/password again, it seems to forget it from time to time..

Clearnet and Nokia 6188 Success
See the following post for a description of my successful use of a Nokia 6188 (twin to the Nokia 6185) with a Prism:

What am I missing?
I have a 6185 w/Sprint and have browsing capability with just the phone. Are there other benefits/options by connecting through cabling and a laptop that I'm missing?
Connecting to the internet through your phone is just like dialing up through a regular phone line; the laptop or PDA can't tell the difference. Therefore the advanatage is that you have the nice graphical browser of the laptop or PDA and the wireless connection of the phone.

Nokia 6185 & the internet
Good point. Because I use the cell phone for checking stocks and other stats, I wasn't thinking in terms of graphics through the phone. How's the speed of the connection by cell phone for graphics? I think I just read somewhere of the new Sprint deal with Qualcomm for a much improved technology for wireless connections to the net. Does anyone have any ideas on when we might see that at retail?
Ken
The Nokia phone will only do data at 14.4k. I don't know when the cool new technologies will be available...

I don't know anything about AT&T, sorry, but I imagine that they have some sort of wireless access available.
I am using the DCH-M9 cable from markspace.com, but I cut it down so it was shorter. The DCH-M9-6 is just a shorter version of the DCH-M9. I have not personally tried the DCH-M9D, but it should work. That is the one you must use if you have a Visor Platinum.

Cant find the 6162 on Nokia page
All I can find on the nokia page about the 6162 is what games are on it. Didnt even find the 6185.
Where can I get the DLR-3 datacable?
Does the DLR-3 connect from the Phone to the DCH-M9 and then to the Prism?

Connection - Visor to Nokia
Here's a good data cable to connect from Visor Solo, Deluxe, or Prism to the Nokia 6xxx phones. (You will need the DLR-3 PC Data Cable.) It's the PDCH-M9-6 (a 6" cable.) It's from:
www.pcables.com
and it's in stock!
Cellphones-Accessories.com are selling the DLR-3 for $9.95. The URL is http://cellphones-accessories.com/gen3comdatac2.html
Also ordered the PDCH-M9-6 from www.pcables.com. Their shipping is cheaper than markspace.com (which is what someone complained about in another thread).
