What should I look for to determine if my computer has a USB port?

Instructions on how to use the USB port in your PC's manual?

Seriously, if your computer came ready for USB, it would have normally two, sometimes four, little port connectors in the area (typically the back of a PC) where your serial ports and the like are located --unless the PC maker went cheap and installed them by way of a separate ISA/PCI card.

In any case, a USB port is small and rectangular. It's size is approx. the width of two pencils (or chopsticks...) side by side. If you look inside the port, it'll look like a thin plastic or metal wafer is sitting right in the middle.

Thanks.

On a side note, I can't believe that someone else beat me to the punch on my handle (normally Zippy) on a website so young.

I'd thought I'd add a picture to help those challenged by my oh so brilliantly detailed description.

As for the moniker, all us Zippy's are rare, but we're fast as all get out. And as the original once said: "RELATIVES!!"
