-- 3500 <-> Prism...ISP to use? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13821)

Hey all, first off, thanks for all of the good reading I get here. I am a new PDA/Prism user and I hope you can lead me.

I want to do the same thing many other people here want. To connect my SCH-3500 to my Prism. I know there is already a hardware solution in the form of the cable from www.thesupplynet.com . What I am looking for now is a awy to actualy dial-up. I called my ISP (@home) to ask if they had a remote access number. "Yes, but it is a $15 connect fee (one time) and $.15/minute.

Are there any ISP's that I could use for free? I won't be usign it much to start. I just want to be able to do it when I need it.
Can we start off this discussion with free (or really cheap) ISP's that I could use to connect with?

TIA

Most people just use the same access numbers they use at home on their desktop (assuming they are using their visor/cell phone in roughly the same area as their home). Are you sure your ISP wasn't referring to an 800 number? Most ISPs offer an 800 number to call but charge a good price when you do use it. Regular dial-up numbers should work just fine.

I see what you are saying, btu I don't dial up. I have a cable modem. That is why I called looking for a remote access number.

any other suggestions?

What Cellular Service?

Some services like Sprint provide an ISP as a part of their wireless web offering.

You're probably best off signing up with a local ISP $10/# Hours. Some places you can get up to like 50 hours for $10, more than enough for most people. Where I live (Since they're note real competitive here) I can get 20 hours for $10 a month, not too bad either.
