Remote Synchronization through Firewall
Is anybody out there synch-ing to their company email accounts through a firewall? Our company is using proxy server with some additional bells and whistles. I've set it so that the PDA's talk to the Exchange server through a different server running IIS 4.0 and Intellisync for Exchange version 1.0, and it works, but things are pretty quirky. Anybody out there have a better solution? (Sorry if this question has already been asked -- I'm new here.)

Hi tShooter (and welcome)...
You can search the archives for this info. I did a quick search and came up with a couple of threads that might helps you. >>here.
If the pda's are outside the firewall and the exchange server is inside the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is allowing inbound traffic to the pop3 port as an exception in the security tables. What brand of proxy server? Microsoft? If so what version?
If this is MS Proxy then I'm assuming the exchange server is binding to the proxy for smtp traffic. Binding the pop3 port as well in the .ini file for exhange should allow them to talk.
