CardAccess Wristband Thinmodem Plus Springboard Module
am interested in getting a visor delux plus the "CardAccess Wristband Thinmodem Plus Springboard Module"
was wondering if any of you have had any xp w/ this module and could comment/offer some advice
thanx
works great. is easy to set up. comes with browse-it web browser and an e-mail client.
I have had a Thinmodem+ for several months, and have been very happy with it. I was able to set it up and connect to my ISP (Earthlink) in just a few minutes. It does draw a bit of power, since it uses the Visor internal power instead of having it's own batteries, but I knew this in advance and bought a FullCharge power supply. I just plug that in and I can stay connected as long as I want.
I don't use the software that came with the modem, I use the Eudora Suite. I use Eudora for e-mail on my other computers, and I liked of the symmetry of the whole thing.
The e-mail client is really good, and the web browser isn't too bad (and, hey, it's free). It doesn't do graphics, but that's not one of my needs. I have both AIM and ICQ working, and I still get "I can't believe you're chatting on your PDA" comments from friends.
My connection rates stay around 33.6Kbps, but that has more to do with the phone lines than anything else. My Thinmodem+ and my Stowaway have really expanded the capabilities of my Visor, so much that I don't pack my laptop around anymore.
