-- Yada Yada and PQA's (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10783)

I'm probably just mildy retarded, but...

I have yadayada and it actually works. I'm using Eudora e-mail, no problem, blazer, no problem, palmirc, no problem, you get the point.

I downloaded my first PQA's today. The EBAY app, Barnes & Noble app, and Amazon Anywhere. I double clicked on them, hot sync'd to install, and they're on my Prism. I plugged in my Minstrel S, surfed a bit to make sure it was working, then I tapped on each of the 3 PQA's I installed, but they do nothing. Nothing. They highlight when I tap them, then unhighlight, but nothing.

Any thoughts?

Thumbs up

The YadaYada Software does not include the necessary web clipping libraries which allow you to use pqas. I found em once out here on the net.....I will try to find em again for ya!

I though that the required library functions for the PQA's came with Palm OS 3.5. When I tried to install PQA's on my Visor Deluxe, they wouldn't even show up in the launcher. Then I tried a program called JPS PQA (do a search on the forum, it's there) and it worked wonderfully. My only problem is that the Amazon anywhere pqa won't work .

URL for JP PQA program is http://www.jpsystems.com/jps_home/freewapqa/intro.asp

They give you 2 PQAs included to try. You've got to get the rest yourself. All the ones I've tried have worked well except Amazon.

Also try Infobeam.net
http://www.infobeam.net/

It is a pretty nifty PQA like interface.

...and I was just about to buy a Platinum so that I could do PQAs!

There is another thread on Visorcentral that I used to help me get PQA's running on my Prism with YADAYADA:

Bret Snyder found this AWESOME PQA how-to site (has links to EVERYTHING you need to get up and running!):

http://www.geocities.com/daveinfopa...ebclipping.html

FYI - for this to work you need to have a Prism or a Platinum.

If you have a Visor Deluxe try this Visor Central link:

Just downloaded all of those files. Now all I need to do is wait for my Prism to come (according to UPS tracking, it's in Boston right now, I can't wait ). If all goes well then I'll be runnin those PQA's by tomorrow night.

Expect a few hard crashes.. and a few warm resets in the process.. Keep your backup module handy.

Make sure you disable the YADA YADA launcher and restore the default PALM OS launcher.. I HAD BIG PROBLEMS with the YY launcher as the default.. Once I installed all the "borrowed" files... The YY launcher worked fine.

Also, make sure you do the PQA easter egg "fix"!! Or you will get nowhere fast..

If you have the POSE (Palm OS emulator) you may want to practice on that first to get a feel for how to do it..
(I do all my testing on it before I even dare try it on my REAL Prism)

Well I followed those instructions, installed the libs, did the easteregg trick so I could change the pqa proxy, and now they work fine. Just ordered a book via amazon anywhere :c)

Thanks!
