Question

I know that alot of people have been saying that one can use a Nokia phone with some variety of cable and some variety of connection to a visor and some variety of service and thus get the visor online. I have a Nokia 5120, and I was wondering
1) Can this phone be used as such an internet connection?
2) If not, what phones can?
3) What cable would be required to make the connection?
4) What hardware do I need for my visor?
5) What service do I need to be getting for the phone from my provider?

Thank you very much

almost forgot: specific model numbers are good (for the cable, the visor hardware, and of course the phone if necessary)

1. I don't think so, I've never heard of anyone using a Nokia 5100 series phone for that purpose.

2. If you want to use a IR connection, the Nokia 8290 is capable of that. You have to sign up with a GSM provider though. Otherwise, most popular GSM or CDMA phones (such as the Motorola Startac) offered by Voicestream, Verizon, and SprintPCS can serve the purpose using a cable to connect to the visor available at cables4pdas.com

3. See # 2

4. See # 2

5. Depending on you wireless phone service provider, you may or may not have to enable data service with them. Check with your provider on that.

do you know where else besides www.cables4pdas.com I can get the cable? (I am planning on getting a motorola talkabout)
and cables4pdas is backordered, and this is kinda time sensitive. Anywhere else?
thanks
