VC's Visorphone # search not right.

I don't think that the message floating on top of all the boards is right. It's also hypocritical after threads about pirating software and stuff have been closed.

Not only that, but in the time it takes for you to get somebody, Dietrichbohn is waiting .

..and I'd have to agree with him. HS should donate the things anyway, for all the sales that this site's given to them (and support calls it has saved them from getting)!

We would love not to ask for people to help us out, but Handspring seems to have changed their policy on sponsoring contests and handing out review samples.

For example, for this years Christmas contest they only offered us some cases. Every other company we contacted to sponsor the contest offered us something more valuable.

I don't think it is wrong to take advantage of this offer - as long as the VP owner has no intention to upgrade to a Treo within the next few weeks. We get to handout more Treo's at a lower cost, and Handspring sells more Treo's (albite at at a lower profit).

I changed the annoucement to the following:

If you own a VisorPhone, and don't plan to upgrade to the Treo within the requried 3 weeks to qualify for the $150 rebate, please consider donating you Upgrade Offer to VisorCentral so we can obtain carrier-free Treo's for our contests at a reduced price.

While still the same message, it comes across a lot better.

The really legit way to do this would be to ask people who don't plan to upgrade to upgrade anyway and sell the Treo to VC at cost.
