Sprint Springboard Phone Module in September
Thought this might be of interest.
http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/200...ntpcs_dc_1.html
Announces a new Sprint phone Springboard module for $250 to begin shipping in September. Guess we now know why the VisorPhone went to $49.
Smart move by Handspring. How low can it go?

The question is, how long will it take for the Sprint module to go to $49?
I was right. I had predicted this when HS made that $49 offer.
Although, I am disappointed that the cdma module is $249. I thought Sprint might have learned something from HS visorphone debacle that the price is too high. Now if it was $100-$150, I would be on it right away..

Cmon Sprint, play some limbo...
I'm confused about something
Why would I want to spend $250 to turn my VPR into a cell phone:
a) So I can have a cell phone to use
b) So I can get email and surf the web
Can't I already do that with a cell phone and a data cable - Yes!
I got my Star Tac for $99 and my data cable for $15, that totals $114 vs. $250 for the Sprint module. I pay nothing extra for email/web surfing so I save another $10-20/month. Why in 1 year I've saved over $300. I can buy some new toys.
(Excuse the sarcasm)

jhappel,
The benefits of having a visorphone/pda vs. cellphone + pda:
1. One device to carry around and look for when leaving the house. Better then looking for the PDA, cellphone, and the data cable if you want wireless internet.
2. Keep your address book in one place. No hassle of transfering your phone numbers to the cell phone.
3. Ability to use keyboard and be online at the same time.
These were all i could think of. To some (most?) people it's not worth $250. I personally think it makes a lot of sense.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.
