-- Sprint DLink & Deluxe Screen Dimming (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=20971)
Sprint DLink & Deluxe Screen Dimming
I just got the DL to go with my Visor Delux, and was pleased with the ease with which I was signed on at the local Sprint store. Made calls with no problem, although the head-set was better than trying to find the ear-piece sweet spot.
First major problem began after I began trying to set up the wireless web functions. I was recharging the battery, and walking through the set-up features on the modem functions, when I noticed the screen starting to dim. At first I thought it was the light in the room, but it soon became apparent that it was not. I synced my Visor to load the Blazer software, and when that was done, the dimness had advanced to the point where the screen was almost unreadable. I removed the DL, tried a reset, restored my data to its pre-sync state, all to no avail. Presently, my screen is very nearly unreadable, and certainly not useable. When I turn it off and then on, the screen briefly flashes with the proper contrast, and then slips back into its murky, muddy, almost-no contrast state.
Is this a known problem with DL? With the DL + the Deluxe? Any known solutions?

Ah yes. I had forgotten all about the contrast icon, and was searching (almost in the dark!) through my preference menus, etc. During set-up, either I bumped the contrast icon without noticing it, or some quirk in installation altered it for me. Now that it is reset, it is perfectly fine. Onward I go to attempt the wireless web! Thanks, Nick
I had the exact same problem you are describing, when I was using the Dlink with my VDx. Adjusting the contrast back to normal always fixed the problem.
I have since moved to a Visor Pro and don't have the problem anymore.
