Help - Is there a way to send "enter" with Graffiti?

I would like to check my e-mail at work from the road using my VP and a ThinModem Plus. I have MultiMail but unfortunately, the server for my e-mail is behind a firewall and the IT folks will not help me with how to get through (It would involve writing a script but they "Do not support handhelds" so I am out of luck). An alternate way would be to log into a web-based system. I have Browse-It 2.0 and can log onto the page and enter my lan ID in the appropriate field but then I have a little problem. How do you send an enter (no, I do not mean a carriage return but rather an enter)? I cannot find a Graffiti symbol for enter and using my StowAway simply sends a carriage return. Anyone have any ideas?

(At my old job, I had no problem logging into my e-mail. Probably because of their pitiful security.)

Lightbulb

Not that this necessarily fixes your problem, but if your IT folks simply added a submit button to the form, you would be able to select it using the stylus.

Of course, this assumes that they are using web form and not some sort of pop-up dialog box (like htaccess).

I suspect they would balk at the suggestion of modifying their page. Also, after I enter the initial info, a pop-up dialogue box will appear requiring the entry of my user ID and password. Even if they modified the page, I would still need to figure out how to send an enter.

Browse-It doesn't have a way for you to submit the dialog box?

I just used my TM+ & Browse-It to access an htaccess protected site of mine, it brought up a dialog box for user ID and Password with an OK and Cancel button.

I was also able to do the same using Avantgo as a browser.

Your IT folks must be doing something different in how they are authenticating users.
I am sure you have tried this, but have you tried using the built in Palm soft keyboard?

Yes, I tried the Graffiti shortcut first followed by the built in keyboard. I then disconnected, attached my StowAway, reconnected and tried that without success. After I enter my lan ID if I hit "enter", I get a carriage return.

I don't know whether this will work, but I had the same problem using Palm Dos and found that the following worked there as enter:
In the ABC area start in the upper right part (i.e. the top middle of the whole graffiti area) and make a diagonal line down to the lower left corner, to where the ABC is. Hope this works.

Are you sure there is not a "submit" button on the page? I can't imagine a web-based login screen without one.

Unfortunately, there isn't. I am waiting for a call back from support to see if they have any suggestions. (In the past, the response has been "We do not support Handheld devices at this time. We are currently developing policies for future support.)

Anton, the symbol for enter in graffiti is what you described. Unfortunately, it does not work.

Do you use the Enter key when connecting from the desktop? I find it odd that a carriage return is not recognized during the login... that's what the desktop keyboard should be sending.

Have you tried setting up a script in Network Prefs? Of course, the only options I see there is "Send CR" or "Send <text>".
