The only honest answer is to state that try as I might, I cannot recall anything whatsoever about whether I approved an Israeli sale in advance or whether I approved replenishment of Israeli stocks around August of 1985. My answer therefore and the simple truth is, I dont remember, period."

*shrug* In eighteen months, I'll have probably forgotten the details of my transaction with the Israeli that's buying my VDx, so who am I to judge?

While I expect he said that too, I've read at least five interviews where he said the other thing.

Including this one, from 1988.

But thanks, I'm adding that to my list.

(short time later)

egad, I never expected posting a silly statement (allegedly) from a former president could engage so much debate.

Ah well, I rather the version I quoted. It's more elegant, IMO.

Isn't this from some Hindu text? I remember something about some Hindu god transforming into Sheba and saying this (sorry for butchering this so bad, but I can't remember the direct quote).

A couple more from Einstein:

I want to know God's thoughts. The rest are details.

What I really want to know is whether God had any choice in creating the universe.

One from Lao Tsu (I believe):

A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.

And, of course, my sig:

Yes, the Bhagavad Gita.

Vishnu IIRC.

ITYM Shiva.

I've also seen the quote as "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." Of course, I've also seen translations which suggest that 'death' could/should actually be seen as 'time' or 'fate', hence it could be translated as "I am time which destroys all things."
