VisorPhone vs treo (other than form factor please)
Now might be the time to do that visorphone thing. Other than the form factors of the 180 and 180g, Anyone know the differences in the modems, etc., btwn v-phone and the treo?
I'm thinking the treo pushed the integration even tighter. It looks as though the hardware is essentially identical (it may even use the same "springboard" hardware and/or software). As far a software is concerned, the jog rocker looks to be nice. Also, I'm very interested to see how HS implemented the KB. I see there's a blue shift key for numbers and punctuation?
The more I think about it, the more I may like the kb idea...

I think the Treos are gonna have 16 MB. Yay!

The VisorPhone uses CDMA technology which is common throughout the U.S. It works today almost anywhere.
The Treo uses an advanced 3G GMS technology [I don't remember the specific acronym] which is currently only available in the Far East and perhaps some isolated areas of Europe.
- that's why today you can only buy the Treo in Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo - for use over there!!
- IF the 3G system gets built in the US - and how many cell providers do you think are in economic condition to spend big bucks re-building their network? - then the Treo will be useable in the U.S.
Actually, the VP is GSM, meaning service is limited to metro areas, and your could wind up with VoiceStream service! Ugh! Check the boards for just how bad it is.

Thanks to those who corrected misconceptions and fixed my poor coherency.

Phone Software seem much nicer on Treo thingy then VP. Hopefully they will release upgraded software for current VP. Or may be 3rd party VP software.
