VP Internet Access
I am unclear on the limits of the Visor Phone's Internet Access. I have Earthlink Dialup, so does this mean I get to use unlimited internet access through Earthlink? Or am I limited to the minutes that my phone's service plan offers (Cingular). For example, if they give me 150minutes per month and free nights and weekends, does this go towards internet access as well? Or is the internet access free, as long as I am paying $20/month for my Earthlink account?
Thanks!
The minutes you use for internet are deducted from your total cellular minutes per month. I do not know how free nights and weekends will effect this but would guess during those times you would not be charged for the minutes you use. I do not think you use anything Earthlink when browseing the web but I may be totally wrong.

Right, but the Visor has a place where you can enter your dialup information...so that you can use it to connect to the internet, is this not used with the visor phone?
You can connect to the internet by using the Cingular service, which charges by the minute for data connection, to connect to the Earthlink service, who doesn't care how you connect. Free minutes are voice only.

With voicestream you connect to the internet thru your current ISP (earthlink). Just enter all the ISP info in the "Network Settings" and click dial. I have voicestream without the optional Datastream service so all data minutes are taken from my voice minutes. I get 2000 weekend minutes so i tend to stay on the internet a lot during the weekends. I don't know how free nights and weekends apply to data calls though. Nice thing with the visorphone is that if someone calls you while you're online, they can leave a message and you get notified instantly with a SMS message.
Unfortunately, VoiceStream is not offered hear in CA
Only Cingular...
Just got my bill and when using it out of Cingular and in Voicestream area the per minute data charge was 40 cents/minute! (normally 15)
