We are planning on adding streaming video to VisorCentral during special events, and will start this month at PC Expo (if everything works as planned).

There will be two streams, a broadband 200kbs (25 KB/s) and modem optimized 32kbs (4 KB/s).

We are going to use Quicktime as our streaming solution. You can download the player at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

We currently have two sample movies online. Please try them on your connection and let us know if you have any "stuttering" problems etc.

200kbs stream - rtsp://stream.visorcentral.com/vc_intro_25.mov

32kbs stream - rtsp://stream.visorcentral.com/vc_intro_4.mov

Depending on your computer configuration, RealPlayer might launch when you click on the links above. If so, open up the Quicktime player and select Open Url.

Thanks,

I didn't have any stuttering but the video itself is very pixellated -- as if it's being presented at twice the size that it was captured at.
I noticed this on both streams.
I have a DSL connection and am using a Macintosh G4 400Mhz.

Is there supposed to be movement in the video? I'm on a 1GHz TB Athlon w/ 256MB of DDR on a cable modem. The audio is very clear and does not stutter.

I get movement, but it shows a lot of artifacts(i.e. big squares with the smame color generated by the encoding)....
The low bandwith version looks better (maybe just because it is smaller and you the artifacts aren't that obvious)

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

Whoa...

Thats pretty cool. The Audio is clear and there is no stuttering that I can tell. But there is some box-like pixellation type stuff that people have been talking about going on in the background.

My Internet connection is 1225 Kbps and I am running Windows 98SE Pentium III@500Mhz with 256MB Ram

Unhappy

Links don't work. Even with the excess deletion.

Very pretty on my iMac. I notice very little pixelation.
