ThinModem and Prepaid Net Access
I can get a really great deal on a ThinModem right now - $20 in the clearance bin at Staples but my problem is...
i have broadband! which doesn't include limited dial-up time. (damm adelphia!)
Can anyone recommend a prepaid / free / really really cheap ISP that is PPP based?
AT&T PrePaid Internet service AND Slingshot are PPP based but require Windows clients to "authenticate". Slingshot is great on Windows but lugging my eight-pound Dell Inspiron 8100 is growing old for checking email and light browsing.
or should I just buy the modem for the heck of it (even though I may never use it but it is a really really good deal).

I havn't messed with it with my Thinmodem, but I do use MaGlobe on my laptop occasionally with good results.
As always, ymmv...
