Nokia 7160 / visor deluxe

Hi,

I searched the archives and saw that several people had problems with connecting their Nokia 7160 to a visor using IR. Has anyone actually been successful doing this? Or via a cable (where would one get such a cable?). I am thinking of purchasing a 7160 today so would appreciate any replies.

Thanks a lot,

Vered

get a nokia 8290 <http://nokiausa.com/8290>. You will not regret it.

Thumbs up

I, too, have the Nokia 8290 that works great with my Visor and my Palm Vx.

Thanks a *lot* for the link to that thread. I managed to connect my friend's 7160 to her IIIc (OS 3.5). Now... I need to do the same with my own visor deluxe (OS 3.1) - I think I need to d/l something, right?

Thanks - I got it working with my visor deluxe (and with a IIIc). So officially I can say the Nokia 7160 works excellently (at least in Israel) with a visor via IR. I did have to get that IRlink program for the visor (but not for the IIIc with OS 3.5). And I didn't have to tell the cellphone provider anything - it automatically went into 'data call' mode.
